On Monday, October, 9 an anthropologist Katerina Gabriel will introduce you to the recent developments in culture studies merging cultural anthropology and cognitive sciences. In her lecture "Do Eskimos really have 50 words for snow?" held by Brain Museum in Saint-Petersburg, Katerina will explain how do we operate in our own culture and why might other culture's perception of the world be different from ours?

You will learn more about:
- what are cognitive and anthropological sciences and how did they develop?
- what are the main questions in cognitive anthropology?
- can language limit our thought?
- is perception of colour and space universal?
- how do we form schemas and models (including religion) in our minds?

If you want to understand the human mind and the influence culture have on us you need to be there on October, 9 at 7 p.m.!
